It seems only right that my first official blog post be dedicated to the woman who started it all, my beautiful mother, Barbara Brooks. For those of you who don’t know, my mother was the owner and creator of the blog and brand, Southern Blonde Chic. Her passion for life, was one that so many were drawn to. Her positivity in every circumstance strengthened the faith of others, and the love she had for her family was unconditional. She always believed there could be “joy in the journey” if we knew where to look. I hope to honor her by doing the same. Lately, I have felt her saying to me “It’s YOUR turn Meggie. You can do this.” And she’s right! I may have some big shoes to fill, but she taught me how. I truly believe God will use what the enemy meant for evil (the passing of my mom, cancer, loneliness, sadness) and turn it for good. He always does! He is how we have joy in the journey. I hope you will join me as I strive to share the same excitement about life as my mother did, honoring her every step of the way.
